About Diabetes

India is known as the “Diabetic Capital” of the world.  Every one in five people are suffering from diabetes in India.

The prevalence of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases is rising sharply and yet we hardly know about this silent killer. We are not aware about the complications it can produce. Diabetes produces many complications like chronic kidney failure (requiring repeated dialysis), neuropathy, visual loss (due to retinopathy), heart attack, paralysis, gangrene of the foot and sexual dysfunction despite the fact that these can be prevented before the onset, stated a press release by hospital medical director Dr Prashanth Marla.
