Sullia, Nov 15: Devotees of Sri Raghaveshwara Swamiji of Sri Ramachandrapur Muttr Hosanagar, and his disciples, congregated in front of the local police station on Friday November 13 afternoon, to demand stringent action against Capt Janardan Rao, who had allegedly distributed four-page pamphlets, which they said, contained baseless allegations against the Swamiji. Office bearers of ‘Dharma Sangrama Samiti’ have also complained to the state director general of police and district superintendent of police, asking them to initiate steps against the culprits who distributed the said pamphlets. After holding an emergent meeting, office bearers of the local units of the said committee from Uppinangady, Puttur, Vittal, Kanyana and Kabaka met the station house officer here and handed over a complaint to him.

It is said that Capt Janardan Rao, residing in Payasvini Farm, Jalsoor village in the taluk, has been functioning in the name of a non-entity named ‘Akhila Bharata Havyaka Welfare Committee’ in association with Ramachandra Adimoole from Murdeshwar. The complainants said that Rao distributed the said pamphlet, which has been the bone of contention, to the citizens of Sullia. “Every allegation made in the pamphlet is false. Those who distributed them are trying to defame the Swamiji and create a rift between different groups. A huge racket is operating behind the scenes. Legal action should be taken immediately against the concerned,” the office bearers said in the complaint.

The delegation comprised of leaders Radhakrishna Kote, Hariprasad Periyappu, Harish Bhat Ubaradka, Rajesh Bhat, K T Venkateshwar Bhat, Uday Kasyap Uppinangady etc. They said after meeting the station house officer, that they will plan further course of action after waiting for the policemen to act.
