Bantwal: Town Peaceful – Policemen Continue Vigil

Bantwal, Nov 19: Tensions which gripped B C Road and surrounding places after the attacks on rickshaw drivers on the night of November 16, have eased and peace has returned. The policemen however, are not taking any chances. Tight vigil continues to be maintained.

Although the policemen have not officially announced about any arrests so far in connection with the above incidents, it is learnt that they have subjected a few people to interrogation. The affected areas witnessed normal movement of people and vehicles on Wednesday November 18.

Additional superintendent of police, Ramesh, visited the town and held consultations with the officials. Circle inspector, Nanjunde Gowda, has been overseeing the security situation.
