Udupi: Fishermen’s Association Condemns Robbery by Police Impersonators

Udupi, Nov 21:
Fishermen’s Deep Sea Trawl Boat Association, Malpe, near here, condemned the recent incident in which persons posing as policemen boarded a local fisheries boat bearing registration number VNG 51860, and robbed it of the fisheries stock.

They also took the cash from the fishermen. The boat was engaged in deep sea fishing near Malvan in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

The fishermen immediately contacted the coastguard who chased the speeding boat with the fraudsters and managed to berth their boat at Malvan Harbour.  Coastguard personnel also arrested the impostors and took a written complaint from the boatmen of VNG 51860. 
 
The impostors were involved in such acts in the high seas around Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

The Fishermen’s Deep Sea Trawl Boat Association, Malpe, urged the concerned authorities to take stringent action against such impostors who have been robbing the livelihood and possessions of fishermen in the high seas.
