Mangalore: Sanjeevini Blood Donation Camp – AIMIT’s Life-saving Initiative

Mangalore, Nov 25: Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), a unit of St Aloysius College, held ‘Sanjeevini’, a voluntary blood donation camp, at AIMIT campus, Madoor, Beeri here on Wednesday November 25 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Sanjeevini – 2009 ‘A blood Donation Camp’ conducted by Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) in association with Government Wenlock District Hospital managed by Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty with a melodious hymn by the college choir. Sanjeevini -09 was inaugurated by the chief guest Fr Joseph Rodrigues.


 

Dr Beena Dias, faculty co-ordinator of Sanjeevini-09 welcomed the chief guest. Fr Joseph Rodrigues addressing the gathering said that blood restores and saves a life. He inspired many blood donors of the day by speaking about the medical facts.

Fr Denzil, the director of AIMIT inspired the students by saying “Blood is life giving, blood signifies life. It is like giving service to the society.”

Melroy D’Souza student co-ordinator of Sanjeevini – 09 introduced the blood donation camp. He said that “Blood Donation is a gift of life. Being a regular donor ensures that there is a blood renewed within one, as it also helps one who is in most need of it. He appreciated the blood donors by saying “Giving blood is the simple way to make a big difference.”

Veeresh, the management club secretary proposed the vote of thanks.

About Sanjeevini
 
Sanjeevini was started in the year 2006 and has been a success till this day. The aim of this camp is to inculcate community work and social responsibility among students. More than 250 students donated blood. Blood Donation favours growth and hope and it is to be remembered that one need not have to be a doctor to save lives. The public was also invited to donate blood and be a part of Sanjeevini 2009.

    i am really proud of the sanjeevini blood donation camp which was held in AIMIT in recent days. being a faculty of this institution i individually thank Fr.denzil Lobo, Dr.beena dias for making it a huge success, and also thank all the student co-ordinators for the response they gave and helped this camp to be the most suceessful one.thank u.
