Patna, Mar 26: Since 21-day national lockdown was announced as a preventive measure to contain the spread of coronavirus, the government has undertaken measures to back the financially weaker sections of society.
Following suit, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar earlier today announced a grant of Rs 100 crore to the coronavirus relief fund. The fund will provide necessary shelter and food facilities to labourers, rickshaw pullers, roadside vendors and other economically weak individuals.
Nitish Kumar also announced that shelter camps will be set-up along with a health facility.

Prior to the lockdown, the Bihar CM had announced that the state government will bear the treatment costs of coronavirus patients in a bid to ease the hardships that the poor may face on account of the lockdown necessitated by the coronavirus outbreak. On Wednesday, Nitish Kumar announced that all ration card holding families in the state will get an assistance of Rs 1000 each.
