Mangalore: Historically Famous Kadri Kambala on Dec 6

Mangalore, Dec 4: B Nagaraj Shetty, former minister, chairman of Coastal Development Authority, and president of Kadri Kambala Samiti, informed at a press conference on Wednesday December 2, that the historically famous Kadri Sri Manjunatha Kambala will be held on Sunday December 6, in the presence of Mahantarasa Rajayogi Sandhyanath of Kadri Yogishwar Mutt.

Under the joint aegis of Kalkura Foundation, Ganesh Shipping Agencies, Land Links and Lions Club, state level Kambala, muddy field race, tug-of-war and Tappangayi, a Tulunadu game, will be organized, he added.

Sadanand Shetty will inaugurate the muddy field race, while inspector general of police, western range, Gopal Hosur, will preside. City Corporation commissioner, Dr K N Vijaya Prakash, M N Dinakar Bhat from Muscat, journalists, U K Kumarnath and Manohar Prasad, apart from various other dignitaries will be participating.

The tug-of-war event will be inaugurated by MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel. Tappangayi will be inaugurated by district in-charge minister, J Krishna Palemar, while Harikrishna Punaroor will inaugurate the buffalo race.

Nagaraj Shetty also revealed that the Late Balakrishna Shetty Memorial ‘Guttu’ Award will be conferred on Vishwanath Kadri on this occasion.

Convener, Kadri Navneet Shetty, working president, S Pradipkumar Kalkura and general secretary, Dinesh Gollarakeri, were present at the press conference.
