Mangaluru, Apr 3: Unknown thieves who made their way into Mysore Sales International Ltd wine shop at Ullal stole liquor worth about Rs one lac. The theft came to light at Nityanandanagar, Kuthar Padavu here in the morning on Friday, April 3.

The shop is operated by Purushotham Pilar. The thieves entered the shop by breaking the shutter door. The thieves have taken away several liquor bottles which included cheaper and costly brands. To make sure that no one comes to know of their activity, they had tied a cloth in front of the shop before breaking the shutter door.

The wine shop is equipped with CCTV cameras. The thieves who seem to be aware of it, have stolen the DVR attached to the CCTV cameras. A complaint of theft was registered in Konaje police station, and the police visited the spot for investigating the theft.

Many people who saw that the shutter door of the shop was open in the morning, approached it and were seen requesting to sell liquor to them. Some came in two-wheelers while several came in cars. The police sent the away.

The thieves also stole ten packets of cigarettes from a Pan shop located near the wine shop. The Pan shop owner was seen telling the police that during the last three years, similar thefts have happened at his shop ten times.

If it was open for 2 hours in the evening like a grocery shop with social distancing this robbery would not have arise. Too late other then to open and steal the liquor as per their choice. We cannot say they are thief because the desire comes first.
