Udupi: Prohibitory Orders in District for a Day

Udupi, Dec 6: Considering the chances of miscreants trying to disturb peace, taking advantage of the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid that falls on December 6, the district magistrate has issued prohibitory orders with effect from midnight on December 5, till midnight on December 6. The order would be applicable to the entire district.

A release said that other than the meetings and functions being organized by the government, no other programmes including rallies and protests can be organized during this period.

The policemen have been patrolling the streets in the twin districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada on two and four wheelers, to ensure that trouble makers with evil designs, do not get a chance to disturb peace. Additional police forces have been deployed to keep an eye on the developments.
