Mangaluru, Apr 6: Superinetnedeant of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada district B M Laxmi Prasad has warned public against inciting posts on social media targeting a particular community.

In a press release, SP said, "Covid-19 coronavirus is spreading rapidly throughout the district of Dakshina Kannada. In the midst of this development is it noted that many people have taken to social media to post inciting and derogatory messages against a particular religious community. Already four cases are registered in this connection.

"In future also, if any miscreant/s is found to post writings on social media that hurts the sentiments of a religious community, the mobile phone of such persons will be confiscated by the police and stringent action as per law will be taken. If such people are found to be in home quarantine, they will be shifted to hospital quarantine and action will be taken once their quarantine period is over."

    All must be treated equally even the politicians who are taking citizens for a ride for their incapability.

    At the outset, I highly appreciate the initiative taken by SP and the police department in maintaining harmony. Lwt us all work to ensure that each person helps ine another in this time of crisis. Its the immediate need of the hour. Be Indian, Be human should be our way forward.

    Stringent action should be taken against politicians, MP / MLAs and other leaders who issue baseless press notes and inflamtory comments against particular community. Police autorities should book Suo Moto case against such MP or MLA's and take necessary action. Even in social media, whatsapp etc many guys pass filthy comments, fake news and hate statements. Such people should be traced and book a FIR against them. They spoil the peace and harmony in the society. Thanks to the Police Dept for their excellent service.

    I think the authority should take severe action any people who give inflammatory speech or comments on any community, beside the authority should banned all religious functions Pujas, Masses, Namaz etc, strict instruction should be given to all the Swamis, Mullas, Fathers etc. Just stay home and pray with good faith.

    Te Superintendent of Police Mr. Laxmi Prasad or for that matter every Police Officer are presently loaded with work mostly connected with attitude to help the people of Mangalore during this difficult period.

    It is therefore expedient that people cooperate and support the police department instead of posting any inflammatory observations against them.
