Madikeri: Sadanand Gowda Not to Fight Election Again

Daijiworld Media Network – Madikeri (SP)

Madikeri, Dec 10: Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha member and Karnataka State BJP president, D V Sadanand Gowda, has announced that he has decided not to enter the election fray again.

He made this announcement, while speaking to reporters, on his visit to the district to take part in the meetings of the BJP activists at Gonikoppal and Somwarpet on Wednesday December 9. “After the conclusion of my present Lok Sabha term, I will stay away from electoral politics. However, I will continue to be in active politics and will discharge responsibilities that the party may give me thereafter,” he clarified.

He predicted that the BJP will get a minimum of 15 out of the 25 MLC seats, which will go to polls on December 18. “Out of the 25 outgoing members of the legislative council, only four were from the BJP. However, we will win in over 15 constituencies, and attain absolute majority in the council,” he expressed confidence. He claimed that the BJP has earned the patronage of the members of local bodies, as it had released maximum funds directly to the gram panchayats, unlike the earlier regimes.

He confessed that the BJP’s internal squabbles have become the talk of the town, and that all the party leaders have realized that this should not have happened.
