Udupi: District inching closer to becoming corona free

Udupi, Apr 13: The district is fast moving towards becoming corona-free district after the first ever corona-infected patient from the district having been cured and discharged from the hospital on Saturday. Two others have also completely recovered. Throat swabs of both were sent for testing, and one report which was received, is negative. The other report is awaited. Once the second report is received, the second samples need to be sent for testing. One both are found negative, both are expected to be discharged from the hospital.

Once these two are discharged, Udupi will have no coronavirus-infected patient. Effective enforcement of lockdown has been a major factor that has enabled the district to achieve this feat. The district currently has 31 suspects in the isolation war with two suspected cases having ben admitted there on Sunday. All the 31 reports received on Sunday were negative and test reports in case of 44 more are awaited in the district.
