Kuwait, Dec 22: St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA), Kuwait held its annual general body meeting at the Indian Community Senior School, Salmiya, recently which was hosted by the executive committee members of the term 2007-2009 under leadership of the outgoing president Denzil D’Sa.
The meeting was a grand success giving an opportunity for Aloysians to meet, socialize and network as well as to elect the executive committee for the new term. It was encouraging to witness a huge turnout.
Delivering presidential speech, Denzil D’Sa highlighted the purpose and motto of SACAA Kuwait, and also briefed about his role as a president for the past two years. After a session of self-introduction by the alumni members, Reshma Correa, general secretary delivered the annual report for the year 2007-2009. This was followed by the treasurers report presented by Neethan Cutinha.
St Aloysius has been a cradle of education for youth and has groomed many into being professionals and established personnel among others. The next phase of the college’s growth is the setting up of a campus at Beeri named as St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology. The SACAA president encouraged the members to extend their individual support for the funding the project at Beeri.
Elections were conducted by the election commissioner Archibald Menezes. Following are the members elected as office-bearers for the term 2009-2011.
President, Prashanth Karivellur, vice-president, Reshma Correa, general secretary, Prashantha Pais, treasurer, Satish Lobo, secretary members affairs, Vinutha Marita Miranda (D’Mello), secretary of cultural affairs, Kiran Sunny Prakash, public relations, Merryl Pereira, joint secretary sports, Neethan Cutinha, joint general secretary, Ashley D’Silva and joint secretary members affairs, Prashanth D’Souza.
The newly elected members were briefly introduced by Archie. The members interested to join as advisory committee were selected. Denzil D’Sa was elected as the president of advisory committee. The meeting concluded with the newly elected president’s vote of thanks. The outgoing president thanked the executive committee and advisory committee for their support during his tenure. The meeting ended with a lunch served by Indian Delight Restaurant, Salmiya courtesy SACAA.
