Udupi: Meeting held to discuss quarantine for travellers who arrive from other states

Udupi, May 8: A meeting was chaired by MLA K Raghupathi Bhat in taluk panchayat auditorium regarding institution quarantine and hotel quarantine in the district to travellers who arrive from other states.

It was decided to segregate taluk wise on the district border, the people who arrive from other states through passes after submitting an online application in ‘Seva Sindhu’. These are to be placed under institution quarantine and hotel quarantine.

The taluk administration, in the beginning, will prepare hostel, residential schools, auditorium and inns with basic needs in coordination with other departments for institution quarantine. Those who arrive from other states later will be accommodated in institution quarantine.

A discussion was held with hotel owners in Udupi taluk about hotel quarantine on special daily package rates including food and accommodation. The rates will be made known later.

Taluk panchayat executive Mohanraj, municipal council president Anand C Kallolikar, Udupi tahsildar Pradeep Kurdekar, Udupi police circle inspector Manjunath, taluk medical officers Nagaratna and police sub-inspectors in Malpe and Udupi police stations, taluk level panchayat development officers and village accountants were present.
