Mangalore: Kondala Friends, Kateel Organize Men’s Kabaddi Tournament

Mangalore, Jan 12:
Kondala Friends, Kateel, here organized an open men’s Kabaddi tournament, recently.
 
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Abayachandra Jain, zilla panchayat member Shaila Sequeira, Sri Kshetra Kateel Durgaparameshwari temple priest Vedamurti K Laxminarayan Asranna, Bhuvanabhirama Udupa of Yugapurusha Kinnigoli and Canara College physical training instructor Dayananda Mada were present during the inaugural ceremony.
 

 

Eight men’s teams from all across Dakshina Kannada participated in the men’s Kabaddi tournament.

Hosangady Kabaddi team from Manjeshwar bagged the first place and was awarded a trophy and Rs 5,555 cash. Alva’s College, Moodbidri bagged the second place and was awarded a trophy and Rs 4,444 cash. Konchar bagged the third place and was awarded a trophy and Rs 3,333 cash.  Navachethana Bajpe bagged the fourth place and was awarded a trophy and Rs 2,222 cash.
 
Manjeshwar team player Sunil was adjudged best rider, while Alva’s College team player Munna was adjudged best catcher and Manjeshwar team player Ganesh adjudged best all-rounder.
 
Bajpe Vyavasaya Seva Sahakari Bank chief manager Ratnakar Shetty, Karate instructor Ishwar Kateel, Devi Prasad of Ganesh Shipping, former national Kabaddi players Nityanand and Robert Francis D’Souza from Bajpe, were also present during the prize distribution ceremony.
