93-year-old in Mumbai beats Covid-19

Mumbai, May 14: A 93-year-old woman has become a source of inspiration for many as she overcame COVID-19 despite suffering from multiple chronic health conditions as well as old age. A resident of Mazgoan, the woman tested positive for COVID-19 and had been admitted to Saifee Hospital on April 17. She has been suffering from generalized body weakness and hypertension for the past 8-10 days.

After receiving proper care and treatment from the COVID facility of the hospital for one and a half weeks, she was discharged. She is currently at home, following the post-recovery course of action as a precautionary measure. She claims that faith and inner strength helped her overcome the illness. She further thanked the team of doctors, nurses and support staff for helping her recover by their kindness, compassion and efficiency.

Dr Vernon Desa, director of Medical Governance and Clinical Compliance at Saifee Hospital said that he hopes her story will inspire and give hope to other patients and urge them to fight harder.

Maharashtra currently has the most number of COVID-19 cases, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, at 24,427, including 5,125 recoveries and 921 fatalities.
