Mangalore, Jan 13: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president R V Deshpande said that BJP should apologize for insulting the former prime minister H D Deve Gowda who had hurled expletives against CM Yeddyurappa.

Addressing the reporters here on Tuesday January 12, Deshpande said “Though Gowda had already apologized for his mistake the BJP supporters set buses on fire, burnt effigies and garlanded the portraits of Deve Gowda with footwears which is a huge insult to him. Now it is BJP’s turn to apologize.”

He recollected some of the development plans during Gowda’s regime. Speaking about the NICE project signed by Gowda, he said that Congress will always support the need-based projects.

He termed the move of selling the land worth crores of rupees for a few lac as BJP government’s foolishness. We, both Congress and JD(S), oppose this, he said.
