Kundapur, Jan 14: Nagaraj (28), a resident of Arasara Keri in Koteshwar near here, who was the driver of an ill-fated maxi cab vehicle that was involved with a head-on collision with a private bus in front of a petrol bunk at Tallur village near here on Wednesday January 13, lost his life.
The maxi cab was moving to Koteshwar from Gujjady in the taluk, carrying employees of a factory to their workplace, while the private was going to Gangolly from the town. Three ladies in the maxi cab also sustained serious injuries. All of them have been admitted to Manipal hospital, while 15 others, who suffered injuries of different degrees, were treated in various hospitals in the town.
The maxi cab was badly mangled in the accident, and vehicular traffic was disrupted for some time, after which a crane was summoned to move the vehicles aside.
