Kundapur: Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary inspects Shiroor toll gate, quarantine facilities

Kundapur, May 16: Karnataka minister of Fisheries, Ports, Inland transport and Muzrai minister visited the inspection centres in the district border in view of increasing coronavirus cases and reviewed the situation.

Speaking after visiting various quarantine centres in Byndoor and Shiroor border which examine the people arriving from Mumbai and other states, he said that nearly 4,500 people have arrived from outside the district.

“They are accommodated in more than one hundred quarantine centres. Except a few issues in the beginning the arrangements were excellent. Devotees are not allowed to enter temples in order to maintain social distance. Everybody has a responsibility in controlling the pandemic. They should join hands with the department,” he said.

The minister was accompanied by assistant commissioner Raju, zilla panchayat member Babu Shetty, Suresh Batavade, taluk panchayat member Mahendra Poojary, Pushparaj Shetty, Tahsildar Basappa Poojary and other department officials.
