M'lore: Konkani Kutam Bahrain Decennial – Singing Competition, Valedictory

Mangalore, Jan 15: Konkani Kutam Bahrain, which has been making significant contribution towards supporting and spreading Konkani language, culture and art, has been celebrating ten years of its existence and service to these causes. It will be organizing a decennial competition and valedictory function at Kalaangan, Makale, Shaktinagar, in the city on Friday January 15, and Saturday.

The singing competition is being held from 6 pm on Friday January 15 at the said venue. The valedictory ceremony will be organized at 6 pm on Saturday January 16, at Kalaangan. At the valedictory ceremony, Fr Walter D’Mello, vicar of Milagres Church in the city, will participate as the chief guest. Eric Ozario, Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, Ronald Gomes, president of ‘Rachana’ and Machcha Milar, president, Karnataka Konkani Writers Forum, will be the honorary guests.

James D’Silva, Good-Deal Trading Est, Bahrain, Nelson Alva, Shareen Electrical Contracting, Bahrain, Clifford D’Silva, Havana Restaurant, Bahrain, Golden Shovel Contracting, Bahrain, Richard Moras and Ronald Fernandes, Bahrain and Henry D’Almeida and Simon Machado Bahrain are the sponsors for the decennial celebrations of Konkni Kutam Bahrain.

After the valedictory ceremony and prize distribution programme, Melvin Peris Nite, interspersed with jokes by Jerry Rasquinha and group, will be presented. Through a release, both Richard Moras, convener of the Kutam and Titus Noronha, organizer, have appealed to the people to attend the programme by being there on time.
