Mangalore: Konkani Kutam Bahrain Conducts Group Singing Contest at Kalangan

Mangalore, Jan 16: The group singing competition organized by Konkani Kutam, Bahrain, to mark its decennial year, was held at Kalangan in Shakthinagar on Friday January 15.

Eight teams from the district participated in the competition and performed various songs of their choice. Each team had the chance to sing one song.
























Teams from Surathkal, Bajal, Moodbidri, Pejar, Jeppu, Vamanjur, Bajpe, and Alangar participated in the competition. Eminent singers and musicians Melvin Peris, Joyce Ozario, and Richard Monteiro were the judges.

Konkani Kutam, Bahrain, is an organization of writers, artists, activists, and like-minded people and has conducted several competitions including short-story writing, poetry, and comedy skits to mark its decennial celebration. 

The prize distribution and the valedictory programme will be held on Saturday January 16 at Kalangan
