Kundapur, Jan 18: Religion loses strength if politicized, said MLC Pratapchandra Shetty.

He was speaking at the preparatory meet of Sahamata organization. It is a general practice to hold peace meet after every communal disturbances. But for harmony in society the need of the hour is to retrospect the reason behind these disturbances, he observed and hoped that the organization strives to foster harmony and peace in the society.



Speaking on the occasion, thinker Vasant Bannadi expressed concern over omnipresence of communalism in the society including writers and litterateurs. He called on the organization to hold seminars and distribute pamphlets to create awareness among the youth the need for harmonious society.

Shashidhar Hemmady of Sahamata outlined the objectives of the organization. Retired professor Valerian Menezes presided.

Zilla panchayat member Devanand Shetty, advocate Vikas Hegde and Democratic Youth Federation of India leader Srikant Vaderhobli among others were present.

    i do agree with shetty, it is all about vote these days, to get vote some one is ready to sell their own fellow men. well shetty has opened every ones eyes in kundapur, which was a hub of such activity from last few years.
