Bangalore: NICE - Kumaraswamy Ready to Take Vow in Presence of Any Deity

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jan 18: Former Chief Minister, Kumaraswamy, posed a challenge to Chief Minister (CM), B S Yeddyurappa, by saying that he is prepared to take a vow in any temple including Dharmasthala, if the CM so desires, to the effect that his family had not benefitted from Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) project, and that none of his family members have any lands in the areas through the NICE road passes. He was speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of a mass marriage function organized at Maratha Hostel premises in Chamarajpet in the city on Sunday January 17 by JDS MLA, B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan.

“BJP spokesperson, Dhananjay Kumar, has alleged that my family owns lands in places through which the NICE road passes through. Have BJP MLAs and the Chief Minister not accepted anything from NICE? Are they prepared to take a vow? I do not expect Yeddyurappa to take a vow, because after pledging not to field his son in the election, he had got Lok Sabha ticket for Raghavendra last time, by pressurizing Ramachandrapur Mutt Swamiji to make a call to L K Advani,” Kumaraswamy went on to add. He refuted the allegation of the CM that the opposition parties are not cooperating with the government on development issues, by claiming that the BJP government has not prepared even an action plan for development.

Former Prime Minister, H D Deve Gowda, said that the mass marriage function is not being organized by his party with an eye on Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike election, but in continuation of the annual social service programme being undertaken by the JDS MLA, ZameerAhmed Khan, since the last five years.

All the 105 couples who tied the nuptial knots at the function, were gifted with golden chains, ear lobes, nose rings, household goods, clothes including saris, watches etc. The couples have also been gifted with a free stay of four days in a star hotel in Ooty.

Several JDS functionaries took part in the programme.

Its time we leave those deities alone and work hard and sincerely for the development of people rather than waste time on these religious sentiments. Let the poojaris handle the deities and take care of the temples.
