Puttur: Nalin Vows to Fight against MRPL’s ‘Audacity’

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jan 19: BJP member of parliament representing Dakshina Kannada constituency, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has warned Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) that he would openly  fight against its audacity.

Speaking to reporters in Puttur on Monday January 18, he expressed his anger, alleging that MRPL had insulted and derided the status of the state Chief Minister, MP and local people’s representatives. “On Monday, a foundation laying ceremony was organized by MRPL for its third phase expansion project. Even for courtesy sake, MP of the constituency, MLAs of the district or the people's representative of the place in which MRPL functions, were neither told nor invited by the MRPL officials. This is a gross insult of the people’s representatives,” he fumed.

Nalin challenged MRPL, to continue with its expansion project by showing utter disregard to the peoples’ representatives. “I will continue to oppose Mangalore Special Economic Zone. I will ensure that it will not be implemented. I will join the Pejawar Swamiji in his hunger strike against the acquisition of land for MSEZ,” he declared.

Dear Mr MP- you have been elected by the people to serve them but it appears that you want ONGC/MRPL to serve you by inviting you for functions. Your function is to represent the people of DK in the Lok Sabha and to put forward their demands n their concerns. have you done so with the railway Ministry ( the train goes to Kerala instead of Karnataka), have you done so with the Surface Transport Ministry ( the National highways through DK are pathetic), have you done so with the Shipping Ministry (we have wrecks polluting our waters), have you done so with so many other ministries. No- because you cannot even converse in a language that the others can understand. Instead of going for/ demanding you be called for foundation stone laying, use the time to learn Hindi or English so that you can voice your opinion in tthe LS and help the people. Remember as an elected person you are the servant of the people not the ruler of the constituency do not throw your weight around and threaten to stop progress. It is unbecoming of any politician. To think that I voted for you!!!

Everyone in rightly said, Nalin Kumar would have not spoken like this. He should have done like real politician who doesnt talk & does everything at back door. Mr. Nalin Kumar, here everyone likes what you show to public not what you do for public. You have shown your displeasure openly, if this would have been any congress leader, then very next day all would have gone to madam to complaint like any student does in school.

No doubt MRPL management at fault by not inviting/involving local leadership. Our young MP must be careful in slection of his word in public/political life. However MP, MLA, Minister or others must not obstruct the development works giving personal feelings /prestige as the reason.

Dear Citizens, pls think twice about the words spoken by candidate whom we have elected to serve us. I WILL STOP MSEZ EXPANSION. One should not be selfish and egoist while serving. Who has given the licence to MRPL initially.

It was for betterment of mangaloreans, to get jobs, industrial growth. Minister is not invited is a different matter, he should not mobilise his power, position and people support to oppose their work it is against ethics of a MINISTER. First minister should know how to behave as a matured minister in that case reputed organisation will invite them to their functions. This is not his industry to teach them a lesson. Better learn to behave in the civilized society has a minister, this is a loose talk.
