On Thursday, about 50 people including some Muslim women from Iddya, staged a protest in front of Suratkal police station, alleging that the policemen have arrested a few innocent people relating to the said incidents.

Girish stated that the man arrested in connection with the desecration of a mosque in Angaragundi here has been produced in the court, while search is on for the two missing men. In the case of some such cases that preceded this incident, the policemen have collected the names of the miscreants involved, most of whom have absconded, he explained. Surathkal, though close to the city is known for social unrest. Dont we have any men of goodwill around there? The fault lies in breakdown of communication. Let the residents, young and old, sit together and talk to each other, as often as possible. Preferably, celebrate all social events as one community, starting with Independence Day and the Republic Day. ALL THE BEST
