Mumbai, Jun 27: BMC has decided to conduct a serp-surveillance of three wards - M West, F North and R North along with NITI-Aayog, TIFR and other institutions.

The R North which covers areas such as Dahisar and Mandapeshwar currently has the highest daily growth rate. M West covers Chembur and Tilaknagar while F North includes Matunga, Sion and Wadala which used to be hotspots.

Basic information such as demographic information, contact history and co-morbidities would be collected by teams visiting the households. On a random basis, 10,000 samples would be collected from both slum and non-slum areas from persons above 12 years old.
