Mumbai: 32- year- old woman strangles mother-in-law to death over petty quarrel

Mumbai, Jul 17: A 32- year- old woman murdered her mother-in-law in their house in the suburbs of Chembur. The deceased Sajabai Patil (70) was found inside her bathroom in a pool of blood on Monday, July 13.

Anjana, the daughter-in-law was arrested on Thursday on charges of killing her mother in law.

Upon investigation it was found that Anjana and her mother-in-law did not get well together, the police said.

"Recently Sajabai Patil had withdrawn some money from her savings account. On Monday, she could not find the money and accused her daughter-in-law of stealing it which led to a quarrel," Police said.

The daughter-in-law out of anger strangled Sajabai with a charging cable and hit her on her head with a cricket bat. When she lost consciousness, she fled to her mother's house in the same building, the official revealed and said that further investigations are on.
