Kundapur, Aug 15: This year's Independence Day celebration at the office of the ASP of Kundapur sub-division was a special event. Sunita, resident of Roshinidhama Gopady, who had excelled in this year's SSLC examination hoisted the national flag.
Speaking on the occasion, ASP Hariram Shankar said, "The achievement of Sunita is a proud feeling for all of us. At least one person from this colony has to join the police force. People belonging to the Koraga community have to shed their fear and inferior complex and join the mainstream of society. They have to grow in confidence and achieve laurels of this kind."
Other students of Roshinidhama and 25 students of Kumbasi Makkala Mane took part in the celebration. They were encouraged with inspiring words to achieve best results in their education. Sunita and last year's SSLC student Prasheela were felicitated on the occasion.
Saraswati Puthran, former president of Gopady gram panchayat, Ganesh Puthran, social worker, Ganesh Kundapur, leader of the Koraga community. Ananata, wife of ASP, Bharath Bangera of Clean Kundapura project, officers and personnel of police department were present.
