Udupi Branch of SIRC of ICAI observes birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri

Udupi, Oct 2: Every year October 2 is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of the most prominent leader of the Indian Independence struggle Mahatma Gandhiji and Lal Bahadur Shastriji. To commemorate 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji and 116th birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastriji, Udupi branch of SIRC of ICAI to spread the message of government’s flagship programme - Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) distributed stationary kits to underprivileged students at Adi Udupi Higher Primary School. ICAI committed partner in nation building through its network of 164 branches and five regional councils has always made sincere efforts to actively participate and support various government initiatives.











The programme was organized at Adi Udupi Higher Primary School. Addressing the gathering, chairman of Udupi Branch of SIRC of ICAI, CA Pradeep Jogi said, “The greatest tribute we can pay on this day is by putting into practice the values of truth, non-violence, harmony, morality and simplicity. A small step taken by us every day can change the world.”

“ICAI is always keen to take initiatives that can lead to propagation of the fundamental education to every child for a literate and blooming India,” he added.

Chairman of Udupi Branch of SIRC of ICAI, CA PradeepJogi presided over the programme. Vice chairman CA Kavitha M Pai T, secretary CA Lokesh Shetty, treasurer CA Prabhakara N Nayak, CA Mahindra Shenoy P, Sujith Kumar U G, Sampan Shetty, principal of the school Usha and teachers were present. President of the school, T K Ganesh Rao, compered the programme.
