Mangaluru: Hotel staff fined for corona rules transgression

Mangaluru, Oct 5: Officials of the health department of the city corporation here visited six hotels within the city on Sunday October 4 and imposed fine on the hotel staff over violation of protocols.

The officials went on a surprise visit to hotels near Kadri Circuit House and checked the situaiton. They found that a few among these hotels failed to follow the oronavirus rules. A total of Rs 3,500 was levied on the hotel employees. City corporation officials said that they have instructed hotel owners to strictly follow corona rules.

Health department officials, Dr Manjaiah Shetty, Shivalinga Kondaguli, Arun Kumr, Kiran Kumar, Sanjay and Kiran made the visit.

The city corporation has instructed the hotel workers to be subjected to corona test. These tests are performed at the nearest community heath centres free of cost. In case where a large number of workers are in a hotel, corporation officials visit such spots and perform tests free cost, the officials informed.
