Pune, Oct 30: Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrakant Patil on Thursday claimed that although Uddhav Thackeray was the chief minister, it was actually NCP president Sharad Pawar who is running the Maharashtra government.

"If any issue is to be resolved, one should meet Pawar and not chief minister Uddhav Thackeray," Patil told the reporters at Sangli.

The reporters also asked Patil to comment on governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari's advice to MNS chief Raj Thackeray to meet Pawar. The MNS chief had met the governor earlier to talk on the issue of consumers getting inflated power bills.

"I do not know what the governor said, but if you ask me, I would say it is Sharad Pawar who is running the state... What is the use of meeting Uddhav-Ji?" Patil said.

"If there is an issue which needs to be resolved, one should meet Pawar because Uddhav-Ji does not travel outside," he added.

"Pawar and (BJP leader) Devendra Fadnavis are easily available, so people think what is the need to meet the chief minister," he added.

Patil also claimed that in the last nine months, he has not received a single reply to letters that were sent by him to the chief minister's office.
