Kundapur, Nov 9: “Dharmastala rural development project distributing tabs and laptops to poor children of the members through ‘Jnyanathana’ programme in the current complex Coronavirus conditions so that the students may not be deprived of education is commendable,” said Kundapur taluk Janajagruthi Vedike founder president, B Appanna Hegde.

He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Jnanathana’ programme of education through the internet in Kannada medium.

“The work that is not done by the union and state governments is done by Dharmastala rural development project. Students should make use of the facility and become good citizens of the country obtaining knowledge. There are pros and cons on the internet. Parents should keep a watch on their use so that children may not lose their way. The project is established in 30 districts of the state. People of the coastal region have benefitted by it to the maximum,” he said.

Kendra Okkoota president Shobha Chandra presided over the programme. Kundapur taluk panchayat president, Indira Shetty distributed the tabs. District panchayat member Manju Billava distributed laptops. Kundapur president of the municipal council distributed ‘Jnyanathana’ handbills.

Kundapur urban development authority president, Vijaya S Poojary, Kundapur taluk Janajagruthi Vedike president, R Navinchandra Shetty Rattady and education department convener Devakumary were the guests of honor. Kundapur taluk project officer, Muralidhar K Shetty welcomed the gathering and gave an introduction. Kundapur zonal officer Pandyan rendered the vote of thanks. Agriculture officer, Chetan Kumar compered the programme.
