Bengaluru: Ministerial aspirants resort to pressure tactics

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 9: After chief minister B S Yediyurappa said that he would expand the ministry after the bypoll result is announced, the aspirants have resorted to exert pressure on the chief minister. They are aware that the list of aspirants is very long and all cannot be accommodated in the ministry uness some are dropped. They want to seal their berths by bringing recommendations through influential leaders.

The fact that MLCs H Vishwanath and R Shankar have travelled to Delhi, has given rise to speculatios within the party. The fact that national general secretary of the party, C T Ravi accompanied these leaders, has given rise to curiosity.

While Yediyurappa is eager to fulfill the promises he made, there is pressure from the loyalist BJP leaders on the national leadership. It is not decided whether the coming exercise will be expansion or reorganization. As of now, there are seven vacant seats and Yediyurappa has hinted that M B Nagaraj and R Shankar, both migrants, will be made ministers. If Muniratna wins Rajarajeshwari Nagar seat, he needs to be made a minister while a seat has to be set aside for Prathap Gowda from Maski. There are some more aspirants like Umesh Katti, Arvind Limbavali, Thippareddy and Hartalu Halappa.
