Kundapur: ‘Shathasanuraga’ of 100 tunes sung by seven Yakshagana artistes gets recorded

Kundapur, Dec 11: 'Shathasanuraga', a programme that is necessary for the future of Yakshagana art was held here. Seven Yakshagana artistes sang 100 tunes of Yakshagana and got them recorded. The programme was held by the individual initiative of Deepak Shetty Barkur.

Artistes Subrahmanya Dhareshwara, Vidwan Ganapathi Bhat, K P Hegde, Suresh Shetty, Shankarnarayana, Raghavendra Mayya, Heranjalu Gopal Ganiga and Raghavendra Achar took part in the programme.

A P Pathak and N G Hegde stroked the Maddale drum and Rakesh Mallya Halladi joined them with a traditional Chende drum.

In the inauguration dais were Dhananjay Shetty Mandarthi, P Kishan Hegde, Y Karunaker Shetty, Uday Hegde, Kishu Barkur, Prakash Shetty Dandeli, S V Udaya Kumar Shetty, Ramananda Shetty Barkur, Dinesh Uppoor, Chandra Shetty, Chandrashekar Shetty Kodladi, Bhasker Shetty, Sundar Shetty, Rama Bhat Sanjagadde, Ranjit Kumar Shetty Hattiangadi, Pramod Chandra Bhandary, Navin Shetty Airbail and Devadas Shetty Marali.

The artistes were honoured on the occasion. Nagaraj Shetty Naikambli compered the programme.
