Kundapur, Dec 17: On the allegation of running a brothel in a lodge in the town by utilizing the services of a minor girl, the policemen arrested a person under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The arrested person has been identified as Uppinakudru Santosh Devadiga (29). The police have obtained Devadiga's police custody as they plan to question him further. They suspect that more persons might be involved in this case.

On the basis of information about a brothel being run there, the police had raided the spot. On that occasion, a person named Satish Salian, said to be a pimp, was arrested and remanded to judicial custody. During further checking at the lodge, the police found that a 15-year-old girl was in the said lodge. Sanosh, who had involved this girl in sex trade, was taken into custody. A case under the POCSO Act was registered against Santosh in the police station here.
