Udupi, Dec 18: Yuvaka Mandala Sanoor, Karkala is announced as the best Yuvaka Mandala in the state for 2019-2020.

The mandala is selected as the best in the final round of selection presided over by Udupi deputy commissioner.

Yuvaka Mandala Sanoor, Karkala has indulged in social work and all-round progress of society since the last 67 years. It has held several popular service-related programmes, mixed with various groups of people in society, held camps relating to cleanliness and health. It has provided books, uniforms and funds for hard-up school children, held workshops to drive away vices in society, celebrated Vanamahotsava, national festivals, taken leadership in government schemes, held meetings to prevent corruption, road accidents prevention month and awareness on accidents, constructed crematorium and toilets for the public, held cultural programmes for children, district level and rural sports, segregation of trash, a workshop for cashless purchases and several other pro-people programmes.

They have collected and distributed to the needy during the trying conditions of COVID-19, prepared and distributed masks, created awareness among people about the pandemic, distributed handbills, identified covid warriors, Asha activists and health department staff and honored and commended them. They have drawn attention to coronavirus by writing on walls.
