Mangaluru: Bike rally creating awareness on drug abuse held

Mangaluru, Dec 18: On the occasion of Crime Prevention Month, the department of Criminology of School of Social Work in collaboration with Mangaluru City Police and Biker Saviours Bengaluru organised a rally for a cause on December 17 at 11.00 am.

The rally was flagged off by Vikash Kumar, IPS, Commissioner Of Police, Mangaluru City along with Hariram Shankar, IPS, DCP (law and order) and Vinay A Gaonkar.





KSPS DCP (crime and traffic) M A Nataraj-ACP – traffic sub-division; M Jagdish- ACP central sub-division; Ranjit Kumar Bandaru IPS-ACP – south sub-division; K U Belliappa-ACP – north sub-division.

The rally commenced from Clock Tower, Hampankatta and concluded at the same point. The event was held to bring about awareness on drug abuse among the youth. Police trainees, representatives of Biker Saviours Bengaluru and students of the School of Social Work were part of this awareness rally. There were 350 participants in this event. Students and police personnel marched along with placards having written slogans creating awareness among the general public about drug abuse.
