Mangalore: Fun- play at NIT-K Beach Claims Life of One

Mangalore, May 30: Two persons who were on outing for fun in the NIT-K Mallamar beach, Suratkal here drowned on Saturday May 29.  However, the locals managed to rescue one person. 

A team of 18 employees from H P Firm, Bangalore had come down to attend weddings at Mulki and Suratkal. Two out of them had been to the beach in the evening and were washed away by the waves while they were enjoying themselves in water.

Chithush, a computer engineer from K R Puram in Bangalore was rescued by the locals and Afzal Khan (26), a computer engineer in Bangalore basically from Kerala, who was struggling in the sea for about 30 minutes was taken to A J Hospital in a serious condition. He breathed his last in the hospital.
