Bengaluru, Dec 21: The high court has breathed a fresh lease of life into a complaint against minister, K S Eshwarappa, which had accused him of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The said complaint was made by Shivamogga-based advocate, B Vinod.

The petition moved by the said advocate was heard by the single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice Michel D’Cunha. It ordered to reinstate the complaint against Eshwarappa. This has given rise to fresh complications for Eshwarappa.

The high court overturned an order passed by the Lokayukta court in Shivamogga relating to the reinstatement of the case against Eshwarappa. It has ordered the case to be reconsidered.

Vinod had filed a private complaint in the Lokayukta court in 2016, accusing Eshwarappa, who was the water resources minister of the previous BJP government, of earning huge amounts of illegal income. Lokayukta court had quashed his petition, observing that the allegation did not have any substance.

Vinod had questioned the order in the high court.
