Mangaluru: Fisherman gets entangled in own net, loses life

Mangaluru, Dec, 22: In a tragic incident which happened at sea near Guddekopla in Surathkal on the evening of Monday December 21, a fisherman who had spread out his net to catch fish, got badly entangled in the net and breathed his last.

The unfortunate victim was Lokesh Kunder (42) from Surathkal. He was trying to catch fish with a net. He also was simultaneously swimming near the seashore with the help of a rubber tube. At that time, a huge wave pushed him aside. His leg got stuck in the net. Lokesh tried to free himself but got further twisted and stuck. He became very ill and the locals admitted into hospital.

The policemen said that treatments failed to revive him and he passed away. A case about the incident was registered at Surathkal station where investigation is in progress.
