Udupi: Padubidri Down Town lodge manager Suresh Shetty commits suicide

Udupi, Dec 24: Suresh Shetty (52), who was employed as the manager of Padubidri-based Down Town lodge committed suicide by hanging.

His father suffering due to old age-related illnesses was admitted into City Nursing Home, Karkala and was under treatment. Suresh Shetty was not punctual to work and was in financial constraints. As he was going through mental tension on account of the circumstances, he ended his life by hanging from a towel tied to a window rod in a room on the first floor of Adve Anandi Lodge, Nandikoor village, Kaup between 9 am and 3.30 pm on December 23. The door of the room was latched from inside.

Prakash Shetty (52), the brother-in-law of the deceased residing in Palli village, Karkala lodged a police complaint at Padubidri police station in this connection. A case under serial No 28/2020 CRPC section 174 is registered at the police station.
