Mangaluru: DYFI backed GP poll candidate attacked, hospitalised

Mangaluru, Dec 24: Days after a Congress party worker was attacked by the SDPI workers in a scuffle in front of Sri Ramakrishna High School polling station at Harekala, a person who is said to be identified with Congress attacked a Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) backed gram panchayat (GP) election candidate, on Thursday December 24.

It is said that Badruddin who is said to be party worker of Congress had attacked DYFI worker Iqbal. It is said that verbal clash broke out between the two at the premises of Badruddin's wood shop. Reportedly, while Iqbal picked a wood stick to attack Badruddin, Badruddin attacked Iqbal on his head with a wooden stick in response.

A case has been registered at Konaje police station. Both have been admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte.
