Mangaluru: Padyana Govind Bhat to be conferred with Sri Kadri award

Mangaluru, Dec 24: Chief Bhagavath Padyana Govind Bhat of Kateel fifth Mela is conferred with 'Sri Kadri' award.

The award ceremony will be held on the evening of December 27 in the campus of SriKadri at Manjunatha Colony near the Kadri temple. This was informed by organizer Kunjathodi Vasudeva Bhat Kadri.

Govind Bhat (51), is the son of Padyana Ganapati Bhat and Aditi Amma. He is a BCom graduate and is serving in the Yakshagana field for the last 29 years. He has been chief Bhagavath in Kateel Mela for the past six years.

Govind Bhat, who is a disciple of Mambadi Subramanya Bhagavath, is trained by Kuriya Shastri and Bottikere Poonja.

Meanwhile, Seveyata of 11th year of Kateel Mela, 'Sridevi Lalitopakyana' will be held from 4 pm to 10 pm at Manjunatha Colony compound on the same day as per the information provided by organizer Kunjathodi Vasudeva Bhat.
