Kasargod: KSEB employee dies after light pole falls he was working on

Kasargod, Dec 26: In a tragic accident, a KSEB employee died when a road side light pole on which he was working on, broke and fell down after the electric cable got entangled to a lorry passing by.

The deceased was Udaya (45), resident of Mulleria Thota.

The incident took place at Majibail Moodambail near Manjeshwar on Saturday evening. The electric cable was being pulled for the light pole when it got entangled to the lorry approaching that way. The lorry went further with the cable and the light pole broke due to the force. Udaya too fell to the road with it and died on the spot. It is said that the lorry that was responsible for the accident was driven for about 200 metres from the spot.

It is also said that the negligence of the lorry driver caused the accident. Udaya was employed in Majeshwar KSEB office. Manjeshwar station police have registered a case.
