Bengaluru, Jan 8: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa has promised to provide lodging facility to pilgrims from Karnataka visiting Tirupathi, Mantralaya and Varanasi. He was speaking at a function organized at the banquet hall of the Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday, January 7 where he spoke after releasing the monthly magazine - 'Gudi', published by the department of religious endowments.

The chief minister acknowledged that the pilgrims from the state are facing problems for lack of facility for their stay. He said steps are being taken to address this problem.

He said that after the lockdown, temples have been opened for the devotees and arrangements are being made to extend facilities of puja and special darshan in leading temples. He added that in course of time, even the aged and specially abled people will be allowed to visit the temples.

Muzrai minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, speaking on the occasion, stated that the chief minister, under pressure from the people, implemented the prohibition on cow slaughter act.

Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of Art of Living society were present.

Hegadde said that evnironment and temples should be always kept clean. He also stated that one should keep himself clean, both externally and internally, and advised meditation to cleanse the inside.

Sri Sri Ravishankar said that psychological problems are cropping up after the coronavirus problem. He said that the temples have been acting to address psychological diseases. He advised that Yoga and medication help people in this connection and that righteousness will survive if it gets the support of the rulers, he added.
