Bantwal, Jan 13: A delegation under the leadership of municipal council president Mohammed Sharif visited KSRTC unit manager Srisha Bhat on Tuesday, January 12 and urged for detailed investigations and cooperation for the investigation into the case of attempted suicide by a KSRTC driver. The victim identified as Nagesh Kashibettu had attempted to kill himself after suffering constant harassment from his senior officials.

Nagesh was employed as a driver at the KSRTC BC Road depot. It is alleged that senior officials used to harass him at work. He would not be assigned work when he would report to duty or would be sent back if he was late by five minutes. Nagesh was also abused verbally. He was also publicly abused and harassed, despite being in service for 33 years. Nagesh claimed that he attempted to kill himself as he was tired of being constantly harassed.

Former BUDA president Sadashiva Bangera, Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder, municipal councillor Janardhan Chendthimar and Hasainar Shanti Angadi were the part of the delegation.
