Mangalore, Jun 18: Lohitaksha, whose seemingly unending sufferings in a jail in Saudi Arabia ended recently, reached the cosy environs of his home in Derebail Konchady here on Thursday June 17.

Lohitaksha worked as a crane operator in the Gulf region for over 15 years. In a crane accident in 2009, he was injured. After the owner of the crane lodged a complaint against him, Lohitaksha had been jailed on the condition that  he could secure his release only upon payment of about Rs 10 lacs as fine. Although he had done nothing wrong, Lohitaksha was ordered by the court to pay penalty for the damages suffered by the crane.

Various organizations including Mangalore Association of Saudi Arabia (MASA) and individuals had responded spontaneously to the clarion call that had appeared in daijiworld earlier, to extend a helping hand towards securing Lohitaksha’s release.

Lohitaksha’s daughter, Ranjeeta, received her father at Bajpe airport on Thursday.

Dear HR LOBO, your comments are not acceptable. Do you have any evidence that non-Muslims are harassed in Saudi because of their religious identity? Don’t pass your stupid hypothetical comments in the name of religion. You people are biased against Islam and Muslims. I am working in Saudi Arabia here non-Muslims expatriates are more than Muslims. Our religion is accommodating all the beliefs, love all and preach the peace. In Lohitaksha’s case it is employer who lodged the complaints and not Saudi government voluntarily took-up the case. For your information in Saudi all are equal in the eyes of law, there are no different laws for different faiths. Your Christian education institutes are harassing Muslim students in Kerala schools. Watch recent news from Kerala, if you need any links related to that I shall forward you. Now you answer me, who is more communal and cruel is it Christians or Muslims.

Regardless of all the sufferings that Lahtaksha went thru in Saudi Arabia, we think that Ranjeeta should write a nice letter to Saudi King and thank Him for the considerations that rendered in her father's early release. This is one way to make the Sauidis realize that we Indians always see the positive side of life. Indians are always regarded in a good esteem in the Kingdom.

Congratulations to all who helped Lohitaksha. KSA and these Gulf nations are indeed barbaric and no wonder they come in the bottom of human development index and Corrupt work practices, but helpless Indians, that we are, have to go there to earn our living.

The Saudi civil and criminal laws are very cruel and unjustied towards people other than Muslims. It is high time that the Saudi Government brings its statutes in line with international human protection laws.

'Daiji' is indeed a friend to those in need. Thanks 'Daiji'. Also, thanks to all those who contributed to secure release of Mr. Lohitaksha. The most beautiful part of it is people from all religions are involved in the great task. We Indians are like a rainbow. It looks more beautiful when different colors forms it. However, some bad elements like a dark cloud spoils the Rainbow. Let us always unite together & keep these ugly clouds away from us. Congratulation to Mr. Lohitaksha and his sweet family.

Humnity has no religion and it has no boundaries and limitations. Where are those politicians who just devide people in the name of releigion and spread hate. Why these politicians are keeping quiet. Where are those chelas who just dance to the tune of these dirty politicians?

Good work done by daiji. May God bless you all and all those who helped and contributed to the release of our kannadiga Mr Lohitaksha. What happened to the saudi sponsor? Why he was so inhumane???
