Mangalore, Jun 21: A KSRTC bus traveling from Mysore to the city met with an accident in Thumbay at 3.30 am on Sunday June 20.

Two people were seriously injured and the bus was damaged after it hit the back of a huge oil tanker truck which was headed towards MRPL.

Police at the spot said that the bus driver had been driving the whole night, and he never noticed the huge oil tanker.

They said that the matter would have to be further investigated before the exact reason of the accident can be pinpointed.

The injured were immediately admitted to Tejasvini Hospital and are undergoing treatment. The drivers of both the vehicles sustained no injuries in the accident.

I think the driver must have fallen asleep other wise he could see the trailer. Any way this is not a case of rash driving like the private buses. KSRTC is govt so the driver will not rush to catch passenger's.

Firstly I would like to say that this is not a oil tanker but a oil vessel for MRPL loaded on a trailer so stop calling it a tanker, secondly if it was any private bus then everyone would have showered their messages saying that
It a case of negligient driving
Cancel the driving licence of the driver
The owner will have the same driver employed and the driver will be on the route the very next day
so on and so forth, but i'm surprized to see no comments today even from the reporter too, guys i'm not in a way supporting the private bus drivers but just wanted to say the an accident is an accident and it can happen to anyone wether private bus or KSRTC bus drivers and moreover I feel it is a case of tiredness, may be the driver had fallen asleep so he has hit the vessel trailer from behind, the speed of the trailer may not be more than 20kmph and they get permission to drive only in the night as the traffic jams will arise during the day due to the slow moving of the trailer.
