Beltangady: Snehalaya lays foundation for Devasi's house in Mundaje

Beltangady, Jan 30: Snehalaya Charitable Trust laid the foundation for a house in Mundaje for Devasi who was shelterless. Mundaje parish priest, Fr Binoy Sebastian conducted prayers.

Hallimane Pravin Fernandes helped in laying the foundation. Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya, local leaders, relatives and the trustees were present. Snehalaya has been providing rehabilitation for people facing mental illness. More than 300 residents are accommodated in the centre at present.

Snehalaya had begun the project of constructing houses for those who are in acute poverty. It has handed over ten houses in the last eight months.



Jio D’Silva welcomed and explained in the introduction the motto of Snehalaya. Mithun Allipade, Oswald Sampige, Sebastian, Santhosh D’Souza Madanthyar and nuns were present.
