Mangaluru: DCM Savadi asks officials to resume bus services in routes stopped following pandemic

Mangaluru, Jan 30: Deputy chief minister and minister for Transport Laxman Savadi on Saturday January 30 said that he has directed officials to resume KSRTC bus services in the routes which was stopped following Covid-19 pandemic in Puttur and Mangaluru divisions.

He was speaking to media after the review meeting with the transport officials here at circuit house.

“Bus services are yet to resume in both divisions on nearly 150 routes. Hence, within three to four days, services in these routes will resume as per the demand of public,” Savadi said.

Speaking on students pass delivering system via Seva Sindhu, Savadi said, “As there is a technical glitch, issuing students’ bus pass is getting delayed. So, I have asked to provide passes manually as done earlier.”

He also said that he has asked the demand regarding new buses at all transport corporations, so, that it can be presented in the next budget.

Savadi said that serious action will be taken against senior officials if they harass employees.

"In different levels, we will seek funds from the government to balance loss incurred to the department during Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
